City day

 Hello and welcome to my blog in today's blog is about what we did on our school trip to the city.

Margaret Mayhew park 

Margaret Mayhew park was our first stop on our trip we had around 1:30 or 2 hours at the park me and my friends ended up going to the net swing first it felt like we were going fall off.

Turanga library 

The library was our second stop this part of our trip was my least favorite part of the trip we had to wait outside of the library for a long time. After waiting we got guided around the library there wasn't enough time to look around by ourselves but it looks like there is a lot of things to do in there so I would recommend checking it out.

Canterbury museum 

The museum was our last trip in the museum we took a look at all the things they had my favorite display was the glow in the dark crystals. After two hours in the museum, we when out to the park next to the museum to have lunch. In the park, it had some trees that we could climb.

melodramatic Acting style

Remember in Victorian Melodrama, all emotion is externalised. There is no such thing as inner psychological depth!

Generally this means “Over the Top” in every way. Here are some techniques which help create this affect.

Slower clearer delivery of lines with huge projection. Remember Victorian Theatres were huge and there were no microphones.

Play everything to the audience, even if you are supposed to be talking to another character on stage! Indicate whom you are talking to by looking sideways at them and holding your hand out towards.

The Pose: Invent poses of shock, horror, love, evil, intent, cruelty, desire, dilemma, forgiveness, begging forgiveness etc. A pose should last at least three seconds and should be clearly visible from fifty metres.

Address the audience directly whenever the script will allow you to do so. • The working yourself up to the pose: lasts two to three seconds --let's see you getting there! • The Gasp - very loud expressing a range of emotions. Often accompanied by a pose.

Diffusion

hello and welcome to my blog todays blog is about diffusion in science.
but befor i get into the blog we need to know what is diffusion?
when somthing spreads more widely.

Aim:see if hot/cold will difuse particals fast.
Hypothes:I think the cold will stop nthe diffusion because the particals will freazee.
Equipment: petrl dish,water,tweezers,a crystal of potassium permanganate.
meathod:
half filln your petrl dish with cold water.

place the petrl dish on your work bench and allow the water to become settled.

using the tweezers, place a single crystal of potassium permangate in the centre of the petrl dish.

observe for 5 mintues

repeat the experiment using hot water.

Reasults:The cold did make the colur spread slower than the heat

Arts kete

Hello and welcome to my blog today's blog is about what i have been doing in arts kete. What i did in arts kete is mosaic we started with learning about different types of mocsaics and differnt panttrens we can do.  The frist mocsaic we did was mondrian art if you dont know what that is her is a picture             This is mondrian art



After that we took pictures cut them up then puted them back together but with spaces beteewn the cut parts of the picture so it looks like a mocsaic. Now for the intresting part this is when we made a mocsaic with tiles my mocsaic was going to be a ladybug but with differnt colurs it was diffcult but i did end up getting done but didnt end up polshing the tiles.

lemon cupcakes

Hello and welcome to my blog in today's blog is about the lemon cupcakes.The people in my group was Kya,Abbygale,Toni and me. kya's job was to do the mixing. Toni's job was to get the ingredients and tell kya what goes next. Abbbygale's job was to keep our work space tidy and to get equipment eg;spoons and bowls etc.

125g margarine/butter
3/4 cups of sugar
1t vanilla essence
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/3 milk
1.cream margarine in a large bowl, use a wooden spoon
2.Add sugar and continue  creaming until light and fluffy in texture
3.Add vanilla essence and beat briefly
4.Add eggs one at a time, beating well after you have add each egg
5.sift flour and baking powder on to a plate
6.using a rubber scraper, scrape all the mixture off the wooden spoon
7.Add half of the sifted flour /baking powder mix and fold in half of the milk using the rubber scraper
8. repeat step 7 for the next 1/3 of the flour mix and the rest of the milk. don not over mix
9.Add the last of the flour and gently fold this into the cake batter
10.carefully spoon the cake batter in to 12 paper cases
11.bake at 180°C for min then turn oven to fan bake for further 6-8 mins 

Reviews /feedback  my review; the cupcake was light and fluffy good texture but the icing was to runny  
1.stakeholder review very fluffy good flavor balance between the icing and the cupcake base 
2.stakeholder review good flavor in the icing the base was very soft but not that it would fall apart.
The thing i could work on is to make more -this was said the the reviewer.

separating a mixture using Distillation

Hello and welcome to my blog today's blog is about separating a mixture using  Distillation.

Aim: To  separate a solute from a solvent in a solution using Distillation. note: in this experiment  we used coke instead  of saltwater. 

Equipment: A solution of saltwater,conical flask,heat proof mat,a delivery tube and bung,Bunsen burner,tripod,gauze mat,resort stand, boss head clam and a boiling tube.

method 

1. set up the Equipment as shown in picture .

2.Add approximately 50ml of saltwater to your conical flask.

3.light your Bunsen burner.open the air hole and gently push the Bunsen burner underneath the tripod.

4.heat the solution until most of the solvent has been evaporated. turn off your Bunsen burner. 

hypothesis:I think that coca-cola with have more sugar than coke zero but coke zero will have some sugar than none and in the boiling/test tube there with be condensation 

Results: my hypothesis is right there was condensation in the boiling/test tube and there was still sugar in the coke zero.

Discussion: during the experiment the coke started to boiling the boiling was caused by the heat on the element.After that condensation started to go up the delivery tube into the boiling/test tube and making a clear liquid.In the conical flask the sugar melted at the bottom of the conical flask as you can see in the lower picture.
