1/2 cup sugar 3/4 cup milk
1 tablespoon cocoa
1 cup plain flour
instructions:
Melt butter and syrup in a small saucepan. put melted ingredients into bowl. Add egg and sugar and beat well. Sift cocoa, flour and baking powder together. Fold sifted ingredients and vanilla into egg mixture. Dissolve baking in milk. fold egg into mixture. Pour mixture into two greased and lined 20cm sponge sandwich tins. Bake at 190 c for 30 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly touched. Leave in tin for 5 minutes before turning out a wire rack. when cold you can ice the cake.
The cake rises really well and the taste is really good its even better with a little bit of warm milk.

Hi Ella. This sounds a very nice recipe. Your cake has risen beautifully and looks delicious. This recipe will be very useful as a reference as we work our way through raising agents. Can you identify all the raising agents you have used in making this cake? Great effort Ella.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to try this recipe, Ella. The Chocolate Cake looks so easy and sounds delicious! Interesting the recipe uses both Baking Powder and Baking Soda as the raising Agents. Can you research this and find out why?
