One egg chocolate cake

Hello and welcome to blog today's blog is a little different I will be sharing a recipe with you.
This recipe is the One egg chocolate cake I hope you enjoy and try this  yourself.
Ingredients:
50g butter                                                      1 teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon golden syrup                             few drops of vanilla essence
1 egg                                                             1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup sugar                                                 3/4 cup milk
1 tablespoon cocoa
1 cup plain flour

instructions:
Melt butter and syrup in a small saucepan. put melted ingredients into bowl. Add egg and sugar and beat well. Sift cocoa, flour and baking  powder together. Fold sifted ingredients and vanilla into egg mixture. Dissolve baking in milk. fold egg into mixture. Pour mixture into two greased and lined 20cm sponge sandwich tins. Bake at 190 c for 30 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly touched. Leave in tin for 5 minutes before turning out a wire rack. when cold you can ice the cake.

The cake rises  really well and the taste is really good its even better with a little bit of warm milk.

  2. Can't wait to try this recipe, Ella. The Chocolate Cake looks so easy and sounds delicious! Interesting the recipe uses both Baking Powder and Baking Soda as the raising Agents. Can you research this and find out why?
